In reply to <a href="https://patrickdobson.com/so-why-do-it/#comment-13504">Janet Sunderland</a>.

Thanks, Janet. Fortunately, we have a newer house and we're very lucky for it--I should write that story for the website. I don't have worries but for leaky faucets from time to time. House painting. But the writing thing . . . I've looked at your website and see you do some things I should start, as I know there's a demand for editing services, manuscript consultation, etc. I hesitate, as I have taken on some real nightmares in the past. You know, people who someone told should write and book, but they really shouldn't because they don't read books and don't know what goes into the making of a book. I would have to take on projects I get to turn away if I don't see the potential in them. We'll see. In any case, I worried this particular post was too personal to me and wouldn't connect with anyone. I'm glad it touched at least one person, and that one person had the gumption to write a comment. Thanks.

Hey Patrick. I hear you. And I am so sorry for the fall and shoulder etc etc etc. I'm in the same place, not physically exactly unless you can count the physical toil an old house takes when it decides to fall apart in various ways. Earlier this year, it was the old furnace which died and was replaced. Then it was this then this etc all year until we come to today when half the house is without electricity and I'm up and dressed and waiting for electricians. Not writing, except for tapping out letters on my phone with one finger. But the house is still standing in hundred year old glory and we're not in a hurricane. Or under water. Or w/a broken shoulder on my one hand tapping out words side.
