This was quite intriguing. I miss the full four seasons here in Missouri. Snow made sense for winter months, and there were so many things we could -- and would -- do outside in the snow when we had it. No, it wasn't my favorite, but it made sense for this part of our country. In turn, we fit in many snow and winter activities that made sense for us.

My personal favorite IS spring (and as soon as I typed that, lovely fall foliage came to mind). The windiest of spring days, warm rains (yep, I agree with you on that), and then the resulting fresh colors mark my favorite time of year. With so many changes in environment and with increasing indoor activities, though, we miss out on those subtle and then not-so-subtle differences.

Finally, I laughed aloud reading your being out in the dark, lurking in bushes behind people's houses. What a great ending!
