I want to pay my earnings tax online through the quicktax site. Several issues, however, prevent me from doing this.
American capitalism at its heart.
1. I try to log into the site and it asks me for an authorization code. I copy the automated message I received from your department below. It contains no authorization code. The site will not let me continue without a code.
2. The automated message lists my tax type is “Profits.” This concerns me. I earned wages in Kansas as an adjunct professor of history at Johnson County Community College. As far as I am aware, wages are the prices of sin, they are not profits. Does this indicate that I registered at the site as a business and not a wage earner? Does this indicate that I registered at the site as a business and not a wage earner? If so, the auspices of my office as an intellectual are in question. If I’m registered as “profits,” I assure you that I am as allergic to profits as I am to cats. I do, however, appreciate a handsome wage.
